Disaster relief group The Gift of the Givers has extended a helping hand by setting up testing facilities.
The organisation said the centres in some parts of Johannesburg were aimed at easing the pressure on government hospitals.
The organisation said that it had roped in volunteers who were working with different private laboratories.
Gift of the Givers founder Imtiaz Sooliman said the tests would cost R750.
“All the rules, according to the [National Institute for Communicable Disease], the public needs to know that we don’t just test anybody. When you call in, they will tell you whether you should come in for testing or not.”
