Just this week, rideshare giant Uber released its annual Lost & Found Index for 2020, and the results are pretty amazing. The index itself covers areas from most commonly forgotten items to the most peculiar, as well as the most forgetful locations and times of the week.
For the most forgetful cities in the US, Lubbock, Texas took the crown, with Oxford, Mississippi, and College Station, Texas following closely. Unsurprisingly, most items seem to be lost on Fridays and Saturdays late at night, while holidays such as New Year’s Day, Halloween and St. Patrick’s Day all record higher numbers of lost item reports too. According to Uber itself, the most peculiar items lost include the mice for someone’s pet snake the eat, a specimen cup from the doctor’s office, a CPAP sleep machine, a cooler of breast milk, and even a purple suede weightlifting belt with blue stitching saying “FEARLESS” on it.
As for the top 10 most forgotten items, the list is pretty standard:
- Phone
- Wallet
- Keys
- Backpack/bag/purse
- Headphones
- Clothing
- Glasses
- Vape/e-cig
- ID/license/passport
- Water bottle
