The SchoolMedia Clean City Campaign fits in perfectly with the recommended school curriculum. Local schools were invited by the company to participate in the campaign. Hundreds of grade 10 learners from five schools – namely St Ednas Secondary School, Bhasa College, Phoenix College, Centurion and Inezenokuwazi – responded to the call for action and took part in the initiative on the 6th May 2013.

The Clean City campaign saw the children cleaning in and around Joubert Park, on Klein Street, King Georg Street, Twist Street and Wolmarans Street.

As part of SchoolMedia’s investment in greening and giving back to the community, the company also invests in the Greenhouse Project situated in Johannesburg CBD. The Greenhouse Project provides Environmental education, agricultural skills and provides an overview on the green economy to schools subscribed to SchoolMedia. These schools are now able to see what green living is and in what way they (the children) can develop and create better conditions at a cost effective and eco-friendly way.
